Silence Most Definitely Does NOT Equal Violence
What ‘silence = violence’ really means is “...you’re free to agree, but disagreement or neutrality are expressly violent acts. And since I have every right to defend myself then maybe I’ll just break some windows and burn up some stuff.”
...that when you spend time helping the truly broken—the ones who require more patience than seems reasonable—you walk away with two revelations: how much of yourself still works, and how vital the fragile thread of kindness is that holds people together.
