Notes from the Post-it Wall | Week of November 7, 2021

By David Himmel

• People taking to the internet to complain about the internet or announce internet outages may be our culture’s most poignant statement on these times.

The Harder They Fall is the film Quentin Tarantino always wanted to make. It’s full of Black people.

• I find myself in the school of thought that hypocrisy makes the world go around and that its fuel is the culture war.

• Bumper stickers are intended for the inarticulate no one wants to listen to.

• If you can’t do it yourself, pay someone to do it for you. If you can’t afford to pay someone, learn to do it yourself. But avoid asking for favors. To some, asking for a favor is a sign of weakness.

• You’re not getting your steps in, you’re going for a walk. Just the same as I’m not flexing my sphincter, I’m taking a shit.
