• Chicagoans are tough. How tough? We can survive a double-digit sub-zero winter day with our kids at home when schools close due to the freeze. That’s how tough.
• Explaining a joke kills the funny. Explaining the lyrics of a song increases the magic.
• Our hearts are vast. And that’s why humans are complicated. And that’s why we must be patient and understanding.
• If your politics define you, I’ll define you as a bore. Tell me about your favorite song, film, book, and ice cream flavor.
