Notes from the Post-it Wall | Week of March 29, 2026

by David Himmel

• Our society is becoming so reliant on systems that we’re inadvertently making ourselves less capable, less self-sufficient. Dumber. Hell, I don’t even wipe my ass anymore. I have a bidet do it.

• Nationalism is not actualism.

• I am in an intense process of recalibrating my brain to thrive in a culture that no longer suits me. And that’s called evolution. It’s a far better option than basking in alienation and victimhood.

• The best April Fools’ Day prank comes weeks, even months, after April 1.

• For as much as I may long for the simpler times of my 1980s and ’90s youth, there is a really nice benefit of being in the time I am right now. Because there’s enough random microscopic marijuana dust particles in my house right now that, if found in a man’s house in 1992, would have been enough to put him under the jail for three lifetimes.

 • Even Jay Leno wouldn’t hire the hacks who write for local TV news.
