Notes from the Post-it Wall | Week of March 15, 2026

by David Himmel

• Listening to Kenny Loggins’ brand of Rock ‘n’ Roll is like watching a high school kid play an elderly person in the Spring Play. We all know I’s not real, but we go along with it because it’s cute.

• Not blaming your co-parent when the kids act out a negative trait that clearly comes from the co-parent is an act of heroism. To put it in more grounded terms, it’s outright kind. And highly productive.

• No matter how hard things get, no matter how big a mistake you made, there’s always a reason for you to reward yourself with a can of cold RC and a chocolate Tootsie Pop.

• Tax season is a reminder of how meaningless our lives can become if we submit our status to Consumerism.

• Credit where credit is due, President Donald Trump’s joke about Japan being real good at surprises in front of the Japanese Prime Minister was pretty damn funny. The dude still doesn’t have my support, but on this, he has my laughter.

• Our culture has become disjointed, erratic, and overwhelming. And yet, when you look at the style of vehicles on the road, you can see how dull and homogenized we are, too.
