Notes from the Post-it Wall | Week of January 11, 2025

by David Himmel

• If you ever need a pick-me-up, come over and let my 3-year-old serenade you with a song about poop and trucks.

• Re-watching Mad Men as a guy who has been divorced makes it a different kind of show than when I watched it in my previous life.

• The hardest part about life is other people not being mindful of themselves or others.

• Look, I get it, manual transmissions aren’t the norm anymore and most people cannot drive stick. But if you work with cars, say, at a mechanic shop or as a valet, you better know. It should be a prerequisite for employment. Or, at least get on-the-job training.

• There is honor in being remembered after you die. Live life to be remembered fondly.

• Good neighbors shovel their sidewalks. Great neighbors shovel their neighbors’ sidewalks.
