I Believe… [We’re Not Machines]

...that if your management style relies upon demands of perfection and speaking to your employees like they’re children, you’re a lousy manager (unless you’re in the military…)

...that joy is found in the act of building something useless: kites in winter, elaborate cocktail garnishes for tap water, or a paper-mâché bust of your ex-boss. Useless things remind us we’re not machines.

...that every argument is either a rehearsal for your funeral eulogy or a Monty Python sketch, and the trick to living well is knowing which is which in the moment.

...that curiosity is the one muscle that, when exercised, doesn’t sag with age, but instead makes the rest of your life wear spandex just to keep up.

...that Love, when it pops out of the corner and jams its thumb up your ass, is undeniable and wonderful.
