Notes from the Post-it Wall | Week of January 2, 2022

By David Himmel

• The season one, second episode of The Book of Boba Fett should have been called, “Dances with Sand People.”

• Generation X was real good at creating a counter culture. We need that again. A culture that runs counter to the disappointment, fear, and violent uncertainty of today. We need a cheery Kurt Cobain. And we’re the generation to do it. Problem is, we don’t give a fuck. We never really did. And now we’re too goddamn old to be bothered. And we have Cobra Kai to watch.

• My hair never looks better than when it’s on Zoom.

• I have great respect for people who face the sub-zero windchill temps of a Chicago winter to smoke a cigarette from tip to butt.

• I don’t like Donald Trump one single bit and I cannot think of a single thing he’s said that I agree with other than this: President Joe Biden really is a bore to listen to. He is the sleepiest of Joes.

• When you give to a charity, it’s not disposable income, it’s recyclable.
