Our year

By MT Cozzola

We were upset.

We went inside but we broke the house.

We were stuck.

The planet had not prepared us.

Some of us were dead and still we argued.

School had not prepared us.

There were splinters in our hearts the size of floorboards.

We waited, shivering.
