Notes from the Post-it Wall | Week of April 25, 2021

By David Himmel

• The current degree of rampant, unbridled stupidity is amazing. It’s American Exceptionalism on a cocaine high. The crash may be the thing that does us in.

• Sometimes, my wife and I are on extreme opposite sides of an issue. Makes me think about Kellyanne and George Conway and their marriage. Which one of us is Kellyanne and which one is George changes depending on the issue.

• If you are ever 100 percent certain about something, you’re probably, at least a little bit, wrong.

• The most uninteresting conversations in the English language will include the following statements: “The land value alone makes it a great investment,” “Cryptocurrency is the future of financial markets,” and “I went to summer camp.”

• You’re right, okay? The problem isn’t cops. The problem is unbridled and unnecessary authority.

• A lot of good can be done when we speak up. And a lot of good can be done when we shut our goddamn mouths.
