Notes from the Post-it Wall | Week of December 15, 2019

By David Himmel

• It’s much easier to enjoy the holidays when you have money in your bank account and fruitful prospects on the horizon. Yeah, yeah, love and family is nice, but love can’t buy shit for people.

• Going out of your way for people is the  most direct route to being a good person.

• My excitement to see Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker is equal to my excitement to see any movie in the theater. Seeing movies in the theater is the only time I drink Cherry Coke, and I’m excited to drink a Cherry Coke.

• A fresh haircut is really what holds the magic of Christmas.

• The impeachment of Donald Trump means as much to some of us as it means as little to the rest of us. It’s a draw. And I’m still convinced he’ll win again next year. Because rudeness, pettiness, and self-loathing always have always had the upper hand in American politics. And in this, Donald Trump is the Almighty.

• Please, this Hanukkah season, wish me a merry Christmas.
