Notes from the Post-it Wall | Week of May 24, 2026

by David Himmel

• To know thyself is to never have to suffer fools.

• The legacy of Michael Jackson is complicated. But his music simplifies it.

• Here’s a simple tip to get your children to resent you: Shit on the things they enjoy when you don’t enjoy those same things.

• Be the pig who builds the brick house.

• In the end, the thing we—Man—will be judged by most truly is did we make women come more than they made us.

• Every person needs time to let loose. Step away from the responsibilities—job, spouse, kids, etc.—and do whatever they please. Within reason, of course. Keeping yourself or others caged is a surefire way to go crazy. This cannot be a once-a-year thing. That’s always a disaster. Unstructured fun is a must for a healthy human being.
