I Believe... [Tug of War]

By Don Hall

...that patience and curiosity are behaviors most needed in the world these days. Both are rooted in compassion and self-improvement, which are not the same as empathy and self-love.

...that progress is not a sprint. It isn’t a marathon. It’s a tug of war and it is gained in inches.

...that the problem with ‘woke corporations’ is not the ‘woke’ part, it’s the ‘corporations’ part. The former is fucking annoying; the latter is a cancer on society.

...that authors get stabbed when a society decides that banning books with ideas that aren’t popular is solid policy. Also, for those who think words are violence, your butthurt response to Dave Chappelle isn’t quite in the same ballpark as a shiv in the neck.

...that when self becomes cause, the difference between taking yourself too seriously and having an appropriate concern for problems is erased.
