...that expecting post-Soviet Russia to rise from the ashes as a free democracy was as short-sighted as expecting the Reconstructed South to embrace the recently freed blacks.

...that if you’re canceling Russian dressing but not Korean BBQ, Chinese egg rolls, or Middle Eastern Falafel, you’re a dietary dictatorship apologist.

...that saying “you’re doing things wrong” is a way of saying “I’m doing things right”; it’s basically a status grab. 

...that the thinkpieces on Pixar’s Turning Red that keep talking about it’s portrayal of a girl’s period is not enticing me to watch it. I’m waiting for the Pixar movie that deals in depth with a cartoon character’s hemorrhoids and incontinence.
