Notes from the Post-it Wall | Week of October 30, 2022

By David Himmel

• Drinking alone is necessary so you don’t embarrass yourself or ruin a good time when among friends. Practice makes perfect.

• I don’t think Taylor Swift is attractive. Her music isn’t for me. But I get the fuss. I understand it completely.

• President Biden is right; democracy is under threat. It’s just become so annoying. But hard work often can be just that.

• Childhood goes by fast. When you’re a parent, it goes by even faster.

• Was listening to Sleater-Kinney’s Dig Me Out the other day and I get the same feelings I get when I listen to Fleetwood mac’s Rumors… breaking up with a fellow bandmate, writing a song with them about it, recording that song about it with them, performing that song about it with them… that has to be a special kind of artistic torture. But, man, it sure seems worth the squeeze to these ears.

• Always make friends with security guards and janitors. They can bail you out of trouble or put you right in it.
