Notes from the Post-it Wall | Week of March 28, 2021

By David Himmel

• Easter has been cancelled. They found the body.

• That some of us are excited at the prospect Rep. Matt Gaetz might face prosecution for alleged statutory rape is indicative of the gross hypocrisy that is shredding our nation to bits. That said, Rep. Gaetz sucks a mountain of shit with every breath he takes and I’d love to see him reduced to political rubble.

• Most of the posts I see from Evangelical Christians on social media are about their rights, their guns. I cannot recall a single instance where they posted anything about helping the less fortunate, the poor, the hungry. I’d love to see the contrary.

• I’m always surprised when I learn someone I didn’t know was Jewish is Jewish in the same way I’m always surprised when I soil my underpants trying to fart.

• It’s adorable when my upstairs neighbors attempt to combat city rats by filling in holes with rocks.

• Truth is, I love Easter. I love a good redemption story—and what’s more redemptive than rising from the dead? And I love the honey-glazed Peeps and hollow chocolate hams.
