Notes from the Post-it Wall | Week of December 26, 2021

By David Himmel

• Omicron really knows how to get around. Just like my ex-girlfriend!
[PAUSE FOR LAUGHTER. CONGRATULATE SELF ON EXECUTING A PERFECT JOKE.]

• My wife would make an excellent doctor, but a terrible nurse.

• Can’t buy sanity. You can borrow it for a few moments every few days at best. But who has it to spare? Maybe it’s best to lean into it and go fucking bonkers.

I really missed my family while in quarantine. Now, back among them, I might just miss quarantine.

• The memories of my childhood have a thick softness to them.

• We all want to be new versions of ourselves with each New Year. But change is hard and it’s much easier to love the one you’re with. To tolerate the one you are.
