• Even Hitler had enough sense to stage his violent coup under the guise of night. That’s the one lesson Trump didn’t rip off from the Führer.

• Trumpism has been since the very, very beginning, about stuffing the powder keg with more powder. Of course the goddamn thing blew. That was the plan.

• When your son tells you he won’t love you if you shave your beard, believe him.
