Notes from the Post-it Wall | Week of January 12, 2020

By David Himmel

• The wonderful thing about freedom is that it allows us to make whatever decisions we want for ourselves and the people we care about no matter how stupid they are. Like getting blind drunk after work with work people on a Wednesday, not vaccinating your kids, and defending Donald Trump.

• I’d rather have lunch with a Grand Wizard of the KKK than with a teed up woke white person. The Grand Wizard lunch will be far more civilized.

• I hate that Google delivers ads to the websites I visit based on my search history. However, I just Googled “What title does the leader of the KK have?” so I’m looking forward to my Facebook feed having ads for Hobby Lobby, Macy’s bed sheets, and UNTUCKit. (One of these is not related.)

• This Elizabeth Warren vs. Bernie Sanders is a terrible thing to watch unfold. It’s like seeing the White Man remove the Native American from its land all over again.

• Having certainty in matters of human behavior is a sign of dishonesty.

• It’s great that recreational marijuana is legal in Illinois. Too bad there’s a shortage of flower to sell and buy. If we legalized recreational prostitution, there’d never be a shortage of poonany. Something for our legislature to think about.
