I Believe... [Sadism is Not a Virtue]

...that, while I applaud the change from Columbus Day to Indigenous Peoples’ Day, the branding on the new holiday is a bit clunky.

...that I’m generally uninterested in what most people think of me or my thoughts thus social media serves no purpose for me. Maybe that’s why so few invite me to parties.

...that we should move away from using public education as a means to indoctrinate kids and move toward teaching them to persevere through reason and persuasion. This coming from a dude fully indoctrinated in the 70’s who’s spent 40 years undoing all that shit.

...that I find any mention of ‘C-level management’ to be so insider corporate that it makes me want to break something on someone’s head. Perhaps the head of someone ‘C-level.’

…that our pleasure in the pain of others—even those we deem deserve the pain—while common and instinctual, is really not a quality of which we should be proud. Sadism makes us all a bit less.
