I Believe… [Del Taco Kicks Ass]

By Don Hall

…that economic forecasting is like the stock market and slot machines: all completely made up (with some anecdotal and statistical backing) and all just a form of gambling. We all know, if you play long enough, the House takes all your money.

…that pessimism is as infectious as COVID-19.

…that in the absence of structure or even a hope of knowing what will happen tomorrow, let alone next week, finding your own structure and tasks is essential. Everyone used to freelancing already knows this but they’ll all be homeless in two weeks so best to pick up on the skills now.

…that reducing restaurants to take-out or drive-thru genuinely focuses your attention on the quality of the food sans the distractions of venue. For the record, Del Taco is far superior to Taco Bell. #rosecoloredcoronavirusglasses

…that it is less about how you comport yourself in the world and more about the arrogance and tone you take that alienates those around you. Being certain of yourself and your ideas is a strength; the more you trumpet that fact, your certainty becomes a weakness.
