Notes from the Post-it Wall | Week of October 22, 2023

By David Himmel

• When you overconsume optimism, you’ll soon find yourself with a stomachache. A balanced diet of emotions is key.

• You know when your jeans start to lose their fit, sag a bit and you need to give them a wash to bring them back to shape? Life is like that sometimes.

• Israel is Homelander.

• Criticism does not equate to anti-Semitism.

• We talk about innocent civilians as if their lives matter above those of the soldiers. And, in a way, I suppose they do. Civilians didn’t sign up for the fight. But why not peace for the sake of innocent civilians not having to become guilty(?) soldiers in the first place. Christ… Us and our fucking platitudes.

• There’s a special kind of joy when listening to an old song and it surprisingly takes on a new meaning, connecting with you on a deeper level you never considered.
