Notes from the Post-it Wall | Week of October 16, 2023

By David Himmel

• When you stop missing the dead, that’s when their life loses meaning.

• American Irish pubs are more falsely performative than liberal white women speaking their truth at brunch.

• Here’s an easy truth: There is someone out there available to love and accept you for all that you are. The good, the bad, and the better. Here’s a hard truth: Finding that person means failing a lot.

• The best time of the day is when the majority of the world sleeps and there’s no traffic or emails clogging up your progress.

• Always remember to never use the phrases “always” or “never” when discussing your state of affairs.

• I want to feel things like a teenager again. But react to those feelings with the wisdom of a 44-year-old.
