Notes from the Post-it Wall | Week of April 19, 2020

By David Himmel

• If your concern over stay-at-home orders is because of the negative impact it may have on mental health, fuck you. Where was your concern over mental health before you couldn’t get your Starbucks each day?

• The story of me growing my beard is one of hope throughout a long journey. If I can maintain my will and strength, my beard and I will find our better future together. It’s basically the refugee story.

• I used to think former Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman’s most idiotic mayoral decision was thinking Neonopolis would revitalize Downtown. Turns out it was supporting his wife as his successor.

• Like democracy, America did not create selfish privilege. But it does do it the best.

• All this time I thought Trump supporters were drinking his sugary Kool-Aid. Turns out they've been drinking disinfectant. Benefit: It leaves your conscience clean.

• I’ve always felt worse for letting someone else down compared to letting myself down. And that’s why I stay home.
