Notes from the Post-it Wall | Week of April 14, 2024

By David Himmel

• It often feels like I’m rushing to fix one problem, clean up one mess, in time before the next one piles on.

• “New relationships are always wonderful. It’s once you get to know someone that you realize how much you wish you didn’t.” — from the forthcoming novel, My Six-Year-Old Therapist

• They finally found me. I received a Jury Summons. Was told to bring something to read. Finally, a place where I can confidently read Mein Kampf in public.

• The worst thing about Chicago is spring. It forces us to talk about the weather. And how much we hate talking about the weather.

• God, I love Denny’s. Best crappy T-Bone & Eggs you’ll find off any highway in the United States.

• I feel we should begin considering a new good luck omen. Whenever you find a housekeeper’s hair in your hotel shower, three years good luck. Because I could use a good two decades of good luck.
