Notes from the Post-it Wall | Week of July 31, 2022

By David Himmel

• I’m not out for blood, I’m out for bruises.

• Things to do while on paternity leave: Be a good dad, be a good husband, be a good housekeeper, and write all the stories I’ve got piling up on my Post-it Notes wall.

• “Wake me when we get there” is the approach I’m taking with things relating to Donald Trump. Wake me when he’s convicted or dead.

• Sometimes, the best breakfast is the lunch of a 7-year-old: PB&J on white bread, a banana, a glass of apple juice, and a shot of mezcal.

• When talking to another parent about feeding a newborn, don’t state that your “wife keeps track of that like a Nazi train conductor.” It makes Target a very awkward place.

• Letting your feelings guide you is a wonderful way to parent and a terrible way to influence other adults.
