...that if you are attacking another person with a knife it is a reasonable possibility that you will be shot by police. You know, deadly force with a deadly weapon and all that.

...that while my interest in the Oscars has dwindled over the years I can’t recall ever having so much indifference to them than I did the year of lecture-y depression and social justice symposia.

...that in days gone by, a job was like a suit of armor that you wore for life and were protected by. Today a job is like a hat. Wear it lightly and be prepared to wear another if the wind blows too hard.
