• Give people permission to be who they are going to be.
• Take nothing personal. Your spouse loves you more than most other people in the world. Be comfortable with that. They also hate you more than most people in the world. Be comfortable with that, too.
• Relationships, marriages are difficult. Even the best ones. That’s because in a relationship, and especially in a marriage, you both have to be your most selfless and selfish at the same time. Always.
• It’s okay to go to bed angry. Sleep it off. Come to your senses. But then be sure to pick up the fight where you left off.
• “I’m sorry” > “I love you”
• There is no right way. There is only the way forward. Together.
