I Believe… [Your Opinion Is Only Really Valuable On Election Day]

By Don Hall

…that best reason to go out and vote is to give your voice and opinion an opportunity to contribute to something more than Zuckerberg’s bottom line.

…that the concept of writer’s block is a fiction for those too afraid to fail. Sit down and create and worry about failure after the work is done.

…that each morning you wake up and are forced to answer the question “Will I spend the day picking at my wounds or allowing them to heal?” Either answer determines how the next day will go.

…that passion is only half the equation. The other half has to do with sweat and focus. Without the active strategy behind change, all that passion accomplishes is wind you up and scream “Look at me!” to the world. They’re looking. Now what have you got?

…that if an obviously deranged guy on the street wearing a coat of stuffed animals stitched together, carrying a sign that read “The End Is NeeR!”, making an odd clucking sound and whose eyes are in a constant state of individual blinking that looks like a twitch on either eye, comes up to me and says “I can change the Constitutional definition of both transgender people and children born in this country! YYAARGHH!” I’d cross the street and laugh at the nut under my breath.
