I Believe… [If Only Trump Ended Sentences With "Meathead!"]

By Don Hall

…that Donald Trump is like having Archie Bunker as president. Imagine the late Carroll O'Connor asking "Why would we want all these people from shithole countries when the United States should admit more people from places like Norway, Meathead." If fact, from now on, no matter what the TrumpsterFire says, I'm going to hear it in Bunker's voice and my life will be funnier.

…that there is a sense of irony that I can't quite describe when a Virtue Signaler starts a competing festival of sketches because people don't feel safe around the other (abusive) organizer but then cancels his new festival due to being accused of being an abuser of women. Sometimes greenwashing doesn't work.

…that, at this point, the only way the Democrats take control of the Congress in 2018 is if we can count on Republicans continuing to resign. Our ground game of "TRUMP IS BAD! VOTE FOR US!" is a failed strategy (see H. Clinton two years ago…)

…that whether you're mocking the president or some kid with bad acne, the act of mockery is based in cruelty. You can justify it all you want but mockery is an aggressive and hostile behavior. Until you own that you are, and can be, needlessly mean, your hypocrisy will shine like a beacon.

…that the people in Hawaii following the false missile alert likely feel a bit like Raymond K. Hessel right now. "...your dinner is going to taste better than any meal you've ever eaten, and tomorrow will be the most beautiful day of your life."
